How Canada Express Entry Help You in Canada Migration

Finally after so much wait, the Canadian authorities shared some important information about the operational aspects of newly planned Canada Immigration Express Entry - EE. These bulletins share valuable inputs about a new system that is evolving from an existing framework and that how it would convert current passive system into an objective set up. The system as professed would be intelligent and would help the authorities in selecting appropriate people for the permanent residential permit.

Quite contrary to the popular belief that the new EE program would simply be an extension of the current FSW scheme, the first impressions clearly indicate at large scale overhaul of the skills migration system of this country. We feel, what Canadian government had been looking for is finally round the corner and it would bring about significant changes in the way the immigrants are selected for the permanent entry into the country. The major change which we can foresee is that now the Canadian government would able to select the people exactly as per the local requirements and it would also be able to invite active participation from various stakeholder sectors into the migration system rather than forcing them to passively witness the proceedings and sulk later due to lack of availability of sufficiently qualified people in required trades.

The Intelligent Selection System
The new yet to be launched Canada Immigration Express Entry platform would be equipped with several sub processes that would enable it decide about the suitability of the candidates, i.e. the selection system would start the moment the aspirant intends to create and submit an application in form of an EOI. The EOI would be gauged through a multiple assessment system, i.e. the first step would involve assessing the eligibility of the prospective applicants for either of the current federal schemes, i.e.

  1. Federal Skilled Worker scheme – the FSW
  2. Federal Skilled Trade scheme – the FSTP
  3. Canada Experience category – CEC

Once the eligibility of the people in this category is established, they would be gauged for the eligibility for the EOI pool. The profile evaluation process would be carried out in Express Entry Through Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) that would function simultaneously with EOI creation process.  The CRS would allot marks to the profiles and store and rank them in the profile bank. A unique aspect about the profile bank would be that it would be all inclusive, i.e. it would not allocate ranking on the basis of the schemes but instead it would store all profiles in a single pool that would fuel multiple schemes defined under federal or provincial schemes and employment based entry permit policies.

The Canada Immigration Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System would gauge the profiles of the applicants on the basis of various attributes deemed as essential in an applicant’s profile and allot a total of 1200 marks. The marking system would gauge following factors
Core Human Capital Attribute: this attribute would include aspects critical to the profile, i.e.

  • Age
  • Academic accomplishments
  • Linguistic skills
  • Practical exposure

Under this head, the applicant’s profile would be granted a maximum of 500 marks. In cases where the applicants are married and include spouse or common law partner in application, the principal applicant would be allotted a maximum of 460 marks while the spouse would be able to score a maximum of 40 marks. Besides this, applicants having practical exposure in the Maple leaf country would be granted a maximum of 80 marks.

A maximum of 100 marks would be allotted for skills transferability and 600 marks would be granted for candidates having qualified job offers or provincial nomination.

Canada Immigration Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System would be preceded by a preliminary assessment process which would involve assessing the eligibility of the candidates for any of the three federal schemes, i.e. FSW, FSTP and CEC. Quite contrary to the popular belief, the EE system would be an intelligent platform.
